With the Class 1 Driver Training Program at Wild Rose Academy of Driving Inc., you can become a professional truck driver. This is a government-approved course designed for individuals or learners who are ready to build their professional career in the commercial transportation industry, the most rapidly growing industry in Canada. Located in Calgary, Alberta, our academy provides Mandatory Entry-Level Training (MELT) that fully complies with Alberta Transportation standards, ensures each trainee here receives the highest level of technical skills with practical experience.
1. Entry Program – 40.5 hours of classroom instruction
2. Core Learning Program-
Class - 4 hours
In-yard training -13 hours
In-cab driving – 43 hours
Also, we provide 8 hours of air brakes training
Prerequisite: Completion of the approved Entry-Level Training Program.
Format: Includes a perfect blend of classroom training, in-yard practice, and in-cab driving sessions conducted by certified driver training schools and approved by Alberta Transportation Education and Certification (TEC).
Course Structure: The program consists of eight comprehensive modules that consists of both theoretical knowledge and hands-on driving application
Evaluation and Testing: Students are evaluated continuously through instructor assessments after each session. Before completing the program, participants must pass the Class 1 road test. The Class 1 knowledge test may be taken at any point during the Core Learning phase.
Program Outcome:
Graduates receive a Class 1 operator’s licence with a provincial restriction.
Successful candidates can begin their driving career in Alberta or opt for the AdvancedCompetence Building Program for further skill development.

In-yard- 8 hours
In-cab-28.5 hours
