Steps for Getting a Truck Driving License :

Meet the Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to begin your truck driver training and licensing process.

Hold a Valid Licence

A full Class “5” (Non-G.D.L.) Alberta Driver’s Licence is required before applying for a commercial driver’s licence.

Check Your Eligibility

Ensure you meet all the eligibility requirements set by Alberta Transportation before proceeding.

Complete Medical and Vision Tests

You must pass an eye test and submit a valid medical report to confirm your fitness to drive.

Pass the Required Tests

Successfully complete the written knowledge test on signs, rules, and regulations, along with the practical truck driving test.
